Christmas Party

Last night we got to go to Marty's work Christmas party. His last employer had a no parties, no birthdays,no condolences, no nothing policy so this is the first Christmas party he has had in almost 10 years. We had a great time!

It was a pot-luck and let me tell you - the food smelled amazing! I freaking love pot-lucks. Not sure why, but there is something about eating small amounts of a variety of foods cooked by other people that I love. Last night was one of those times where the Celiacs was a blessing and a curse. It stopped me from eating a lot of not good for me things - but it stopped me from eating a lot of not good for me things, if you know what I mean.

I have realized over the last few years just how much I love the Christmas season. I love the decorations, the presents, the food, the friends, the magic. I love it all. I want it all.

I think that next year we will have a Christmas party. Of course, it is going to depend on whether we move or not, because there is no way in hell we can have more than three people in this apartment. It is just too damn small.

In the mean time, I will enjoy the traditions we have. Every year we make hot cocoa for everyone, put the tree up, turn the lights off and just watch the tree twinkle. We watch the movie Elf at least 10 times. We make goodies for ourselves and to share with friends. When we lived up north we went sledding. Rest assured that there is plenty of hot cocoa and egg nog consumption - and now that we have the Keurig, the cups of hot cocoa will go through the roof.
